The American College Health Association (ACHA) recognized BK Taylor, Northwest Missouri State University’s assistant director of wellness services for prevention, outreach and education, with its New Professional Award on May 29 at the annual ACHA conference in Denver.

The award recognizes ACHA members who have provided service to the field of college health for five years or less and who have made significant contributions to their institutions and affiliate.

Taylor completes his term as president of the Central College Health Association, a regional affiliate of ACHA, this month.

A member of the Northwest staff since 2014, Taylor received the University’s Excellence Award for Agility and Innovation in January and has played a key role in the development and implementation of a range of initiatives related to physical and mental health promotion and violence prevention. He has a master’s degree in higher education leadership and a bachelor’s degree in psychology, both from Northwest.
